The main duties of the successful candidate will be to perform ECGs, fit ambulatory ECG, Event, and BP monitors, and support the Cardiac Physiologists in their daily clinical work, as well as performing some clerical and office duties.
The main Cardiology Department is based in the Croydon Heart Centre at Croydon University Hospital, along with a Cardiac Catheter Suite and Daycare Unit. Cardiology tests are also provided at Purley War Memorial Hospital Community Diagnostic Centre, and a new Community Diagnostic Centre in New Addington is opening in September 2025. The successful candidate will work across all three sites on a rotational basis. We provide a comprehensive range of non-invasive procedures including: ECGs, Ambulatory monitoring (ECG, Event, and BP), Technician-Led Exercise Tests, Adult Transoesophageal Echocardiography, Adult and Paediatric Transthoracic Echocardiography (including contrast, bubble studies, and stress echo). There are also specialist Heart Failure, Valve, and Rapid Access Chest Pain Clinics.
Applications are invited for a highly motivated individual to join the Cardiology team as a Cardiology Assistant Practitioner (Cardiographer), working predominantly at the new Community Diagnostic Centre in New Addington, part of Croydon Health Services NHS Trust. This role is demanding but rewarding, and the successful candidate should have previous experience working in a Cardiology department.
