Your new company
As the new Senior Quantity Surveyor, you’ll be joining a specialist Quantity Surveying practice, specialising in providing support to construction clients, contractors, and other practices. Situated in the heart of Cambridgeshire, this company operates nationally across the UK, with exciting major projects in London, Brighton, and Ireland, working with some well-known clients in the market. They pride themselves on assisting with the complex delivery of construction activities and aim to provide a bespoke service to each of their clients.
Your new role
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you’ll report to Lead Surveyors, Regional Directors, and the Board. In this senior role, you will lead all aspects of Quantity Surveying/Estimating from pre- to post-contract services. You will interact with clients via meetings and ensure the company is represented professionally. You’ll assist in developing the wider team of Assistant Quantity Surveyors, guiding them and supporting their studies towards becoming Chartered.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Pre-Contract:
* Prepare detailed measures and Bill of Quantities (BQ) documents.
* Prepare feasibility studies and cost plans.
* Contract preparation.
* Price tender submissions.
* Review contract conditions.
* Prepare Subcontract (SC) enquiry documents.
Post-Contract:
* Prepare budgetary advice.
* Organise and attend pre-order SC meetings.
* Preparation of EOT/L&E claims.
* Deal with disputes effectively.
What you'll need to succeed
Ideally, you will be RICS accredited, but CIOB accreditation is also acceptable. You should have excellent communication skills and be passionate about delivering results. As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you need to be commercially aware and detail-oriented, with strong technical skills. Leadership qualities are essential, including the ability to manage a team and provide constructive feedback and support.
