Job Description:
We are seeking 2 Consultant Psychiatrists to join our well-established MDT and Senior Leadership Team in the acute adult inpatient service at LYPFT. The Consultants will work within mutually agreed timetables to be the Responsible Clinician, collaborating with the MDT to assess, review, prescribe, and treat inpatients, most of whom are detained under the MHA. LYPFT has a strong record in teaching and training medical students and junior doctors, with excellent opportunities for clinical and medical leadership development. Each Consultant will lead on inpatient management alongside a large MDT, supported by a full-time Specialty Doctor, Higher Trainee, Core Trainee, and Foundation Year Doctor. The role involves significant medical and clinical leadership responsibilities.
Main duties include providing high-quality patient care, contributing to the trust's goals of reducing stigma and discrimination, and improving lives for those with learning disabilities and mental health issues. Person specifications include:
* Qualifications: GMC specialist register or within 6 months of CCT/CESR, current AC approval, member of RCPsych.
* Experience: Working age adult psychiatry, teaching and training experience, and involvement in quality improvement projects.
* Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
