Overview
South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an Electrician to join the Estates team at Bethlem Royal Hospital. The Trust has four main sites and community properties; applicants should be able to organise work, parts and materials and carry out tasks in a safe and tidy manner. To maintain continuity of service there may be times when extra hours or altered work patterns/duties are required. The post-holder must have a good general knowledge of domestic and commercial building services.
Responsibilities
As an Electrician you will be keen, enthusiastic and physically fit, working as part of a large team. Main activities include maintenance, reactive repairs, compliance monitoring and associated remedial work at the Bethlem Royal Hospital site and Community Properties. Applicants should be able to arrange their work, parts and materials and carry out tasks in a safe and tidy manner and be capable of working on their own initiative. The trust requires a good general knowledge of domestic and commercial buildings, and you will need knowledge of building structures and fabric as well as fire compartmentalisation and fire door maintenance. Statutory checks will be carried out in line with Building Regulations, HBN and HTM.

The Bethlem Royal Hospital is located within the Croydon Borough and less than 10 minutes from the train station with a local bus stop outside the main gates. We also provide services and operate across other locations, such as the London boroughs of Croydon, Lambeth, Lewisham and Southwark, and substance misuse services for residents of Bexley, Lambeth, Greenwich and Wandsworth.
