Company
Imagine a world where every small business has the power to thrive. That's the world we're building at iwoca. Small businesses aren't just statistics – they're the heartbeat of our communities, the character of our high streets, and the engine of our economy. Since 2012, we've revolutionised how these businesses access finance, turning what was once a lengthy, frustrating process into something remarkable: funding that's fast, flexible, and actually works for modern businesses.
Our impact speaks for itself: we've provided billions in funding to over 150,000 businesses across Europe, making us one of the continent's leading fintech innovators. But we're just getting started. Our mission? To empower one million businesses with the financial tools they deserve.
We combine cutting‑edge technology and data science with genuine human understanding to make finance feel less like a barrier and more like a superpower. Whether it's managing cash flow, seizing unexpected opportunities, or simply navigating day‑to‑day operations, we ensure businesses get the funds they need – often within minutes.
We’re now launching innovative tools like Credit Compass, our free Business Health Tool, designed to give small business owners clarity around their financial health and credit standing.
Your Mission
This is a hands‑on design role with plenty of autonomy: you’ll take ideas from concept to launch, explore ways for businesses to engage with their data, and refine experiences based on real user feedback. We’re a small, ambitious team building something from the ground up – so if you like variety, collaboration, and seeing your work make a real impact, you’ll fit right in.
Responsibilities
* Design end‑to‑end app experiences that make complex financial information clear and actionable, helping small businesses understand and act on their data.
* Own features from discovery to launch – map user journeys, test hypotheses, and design interfaces that balance user needs with technical feasibility.
* Turn research and data into better product decisions, translating qualitative and quantitative insights into measurable design improvements.
* Define and refine interaction patterns that lay the foundation for Credit Compass’s evolution, documenting and improving reusable UI elements and behaviours.
* Build a product that businesses keep coming back to, designing experiences that provide clarity, transparency, and progress over time, encouraging repeated engagement.
Requirements
* Around 3–5 years’ experience in product design, with a focus on critical thinking and effective collaboration.
* Curious and analytical – a drive to understand how things work and why users behave the way they do.
* A natural problem‑solver able to simplify complexity into clear, engaging experiences.
* Experience in mobile app design, familiar with platform‑specific patterns.
* Comfortable working with ambiguity – you enjoy figuring out “what” as well as “how”.
* Skilled in interaction and visual design, with solid UX foundations.
* Pragmatic and delivery‑focused.
* Exposure to user research, tests, and analysis.
Nice to have (or you’ll learn on the job)
* Experience designing data‑driven interfaces and dashboards.
* Interest or familiarity in micro‑interactions.
* Familiarity with behavioural design or methods that drive user action and habit formation.
* Experience contributing to or evolving a design system.
* Understanding of information hierarchy and data visualisation principles.
