Job overview

We are seeking a highly motivated, enthusiastic and adaptable individual, who is able to work with precision and accuracy, in a fast paced service and environment, to join our Dermatology team as Directorate Support Manager for Dermatology.

Our directorate support manager is key in managing our Directorate’s admin teams and processes, to develop and deliver a full comprehensive administrative service to our patients and our clinical/non-clinical teams, acting as first point of contact for our admin teams and service users.

Main duties of the job

·Direct Line Management of our Band 4 Specialty Co-ordinators and to oversee their direct line management of our Band 3 and 2 Admin support staff (where this is in place, or managing this where required and any bank admin staff). To include management of leave approval, rosters, and all HR processes, acting as their first port of call.

·Manage and support the Directorates Administration processes.

·Manage the admin recruitment process from advertising to shortlisting, interviewing, and appointing.

·Actively carry out the Directorates RTT and cancer validation to support delivery of the Trusts key performance targets.

·Reviewing and supporting the Directorates waiting lists, clinics, and capacity to ensure booked in turn, utilised and any capacity issues highlighted.

·Liaising with multi-disciplinary teams in the resolution of PALs concerns.

·Organise Directorate meetings and venues, preparing agendas and taking minutes.

·Attend performance, Directorate and any meetings as required.

Please note: This role does not meet the minimum criteria for visa sponsorship under the current UK immigration rules, which set specific salary and skill thresholds. As such, we are unable to provide sponsorship for this post. Applicants will therefore need to already have the right to work in the UK to be considered. Person specification

Essential and Desirable

Essential criteria

1. GCSE grade 4-9/A-C including Maths and English
2. Degree/Higher Level education or equivalent experience
3. Knowledge and demonstratable experience of co-ordinating, supervising or managing staff and admin processes within the NHS
4. Experience of managing a complex and varied workload within a fast paced environment

Desirable criteria

5. Medical Terminology
6. Managerial qualification or equivalent experience
7. RTT & Cancer pathway experience
