A rare opportunity has arisen for a motivated individual with a cardiology background to join our team in the Cardiac and Stroke Receiving Unit (CSRU) at Wycombe for a 12 month secondment role.
CSRU was established in 2012 as a specialist unit providing emergency care to people with cardiac and stroke symptoms. The service offers 24hr admission, assessment and treatment for a wide range of conditions, we also offer a Monday to Friday PPCI service to the people living in the county of Buckinghamshire and a Thrombolysis/ Thrombectomy service 24/7.
Main duties of the job
Within this role the successful applicant will co-ordinate the shift, support the junior staff and provide expert knowledge where needed. Part of their daily responsibilities will also involve working in a supportive role alongside the stroke nurses ensuring that we deliver the highest possible care to all service users.
Running and coordinating a busy 8 bed unit for the region involving stroke and cardiac working with a full multi-disciplinary approach .

EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING
Essential criteria
1. NMC Registration on Part 1 of the Register
2. Evidence of continuing professional development
3. Teaching And assessing or Mentorship qualification
4. First Line Management Course
Desirable criteria
5. Post-registration qualification in specialist area
EXPERIENCE
Essential criteria
6. Post registration clinical experience
7. Experience of teaching and assessing students and qualified & non-qualified staff in the clinical area
8. Demonstrates an understanding of the National agenda for the speciality, knowledge of quality standards, NICE Guidance, CQC, and best practice
9. Previous experience as shift/team leader
10. Experience of and a clear Knowledge of care of patients with Cardiac and Stroke symptoms

13. Able to influence and overcome resistance through application of advanced communication skills
14. To be able to present information in a professional manner using clear, concise verbal and written communication to ensure liaison with multi-disciplinary team, patients and carers and to ensure records are kept accurately and in a legible manner
15. Ability to write detailed reports on patients’ care to ensure interpretation by other members of the multi-disciplined team for complete and safe care of the patient.
16. Ability to work within a team and independently to manage and plan own and team care of patients to ensure provision of high quality, comprehensive, holistic and timely assessments and treatments for patients
