Community Housing Assistant
Location: Kendal, working across Cumbria and North Lancashire
Contract: Temporary 6-month, part-time (28.5 hpw), Monday-Friday
Salary: £24,638 per annum pro-rata plus benefits including Health Cash Plan
About the role:
Join our housing team as a Community Housing Assistant, providing face-to-face customer support in Kendal and South Lakes. If you enjoy variety, engaging with communities, and developing a career in housing, this role is ideal for you.
Responsibilities include:
* Engaging with customers and communities through visibility and proactive estate management
* Supporting housing managers to maintain and improve local neighbourhoods
* Managing void processes, liaising with authorities, inspecting estates, and coordinating with contractors
* Conducting safety and compliance checks and maintaining records
* Handling administrative tasks such as updating records, ordering supplies, and processing payments
Candidate qualities:
* A positive, proactive attitude with good organization skills
* A passion for excellent customer service and community support
* Ability to collaborate with colleagues and external partners
* Understanding of housing management, law, and universal credit is beneficial but not essential
* Comfortable using technology to manage systems and records
* Willingness to work independently on estates

Additional details:
* Hybrid role: working from communities in Kendal and South Lakes, with regional team support
* Regular team days in the office and regional meetings
* Flexibility in working hours; vehicle insured for business use required (mileage paid)
* Standard DBS check required (paid for by us)
