JDR Recruitment are recruiting for Sewing Machinists in Hyde.
Job Purpose
To operate industrial sewing machines to produce high‑quality soft goods. Ensures all products meet required standards for durability, accuracy, and presentation.

Key Responsibilities
* Operate industrial sewing machines (e.g., overlocker, walking‑foot, zig‑zag) to assemble dog beds and covers.
* Sew fabric panels, zips, piping, labels, Velcro, handles, and trims to specification.
* Follow production patterns, templates, and work instructions accurately.
* Cut fabric or foam components when required.
* Ensure all stitching is neat, strong, and meets quality standards for pet-use products.
* Maintain a clean and organised workstation.
* Inspect finished products for faults and perform repairs or adjustments.
* Work to daily/weekly production targets and deadlines.
* Report material shortages or machine issues to the supervisor.
* Carry out basic machine maintenance, such as cleaning and thread changes.

Skills & Experience Required
* Experience using industrial sewing machines (essential).
* Ability to sew heavy fabrics such as upholstery fabric, canvas, faux fur, or waterproof materials.
* Understanding of patterns, seam allowances, and measuring.
* Good hand‑eye coordination and attention to detail.
* Ability to work independently and within a team.
* Previous experience in textiles, upholstery, pet product manufacturing, or soft furnishings (desirable).
The working hours for this role are Monday - Friday 9am-5pm
£13.71 per hour
