Job Title: Pollutions Control Lead
Location: Durrington, Worthing (Occasional working at our Falmer office)
Perm/FTC: Permanent
Hours: 38 hrs per week
Salary: £35k based on skills and experience - plus 15% shift allowance

To meet and exceed the needs of our customers, we are undertaking a transformation of our control centre and due to internal team movement, we are looking to recruit a Pollution Control Lead to join our existing team.
The Pollutions Control Lead drives response to faults and issues which have a heightened risk of impacting the environment, by directing different teams and processes to an effective resolution. Southern Water has some of the largest stretches of bathing water in the South, therefore we have an obligation to minimise risk and ensure that pollution is kept to a minimum.
You will be involved in high level incident coordinating and support resource for controllers. Whilst monitoring alarm mistakes, performance issues or deterioration, coordinate resources to resolve issues and establish contact with consistency and continuity. You will carry out overnight site compliance checks and report performance and arrange site visits. You will achieve your goals by being an individual who is data driven, inquisitive, and someone who will use these skills to effectively monitor site trends.
This a role that will require your enthusiasm and passion for positive change and be able to consistently promote the ways in which Southern Water can protect the environment for years to come. Whether you have a qualification in environmental science, have some experience working for an environmental regulator or you have experience within the utilities sector, we would love to hear from you.
The role will be based at our Durrington office, and working the following shift pattern:
3 x days on, 7 x days off
4 x days on, 7 x days off
3 x nights on, 7 x days off
4 x nights on, 7 x days off
Within the shift pattern are a number of standby shifts, which will be discussed at the interview stage.
There may also be a requirement to work at our Falmer office on occasions.
You will have an analytical approach to your work and ideally have an environmental background and you will thrive in a reactive and fast paced role.
