Overview
An exciting secondment / fixed term opportunity for a Band 5 key worker post within Conwy Substance Misuse Service, based in Colwyn Bay. This post will be for a period of 12 months.
Prior to applying, you must obtain permission from your current line manager.
Responsibilities
* Provide comprehensive assessment and treatment interventions to individuals who misuse substances, including risk assessment, substance use, social care and psychological effects.
* Work as an autonomous practitioner in community settings including services users\' homes.
* Manage a caseload and support individuals through their treatment within service.
* Supervise junior members of staff and support their development.
* Apply knowledge and experience of substance misuse interventions and treatment; use effective communication skills to engage, motivate and maintain service users in contact with services.
* Develop and continuously evaluate treatment programmes as appropriate.
* Induction will be tailored to individual needs, and discussed at interview.
* Work with both alcohol and drug misuse service users.
Qualifications / Skills
* Knowledge and experience of substance misuse interventions and treatment.
* Ability to engage and communicate effectively with service users.
* The ability to speak Welsh is desirable; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
