As the Ecologist, you will work within a Rail environment on infrastructure projects, collaborating closely with site teams and supervisors to assess ecological needs and identify invasive species. Your responsibilities will include:
1. Assessing environmental assessment outputs and reviewing data.
2. Conducting site visits to evaluate ecological conditions, including trough routes and under-rail furniture.
3. Determining if a licence is required and applying for the appropriate licences from Natural England.
You may also be expected to provide advice on ecological issues. Since this role is within a Rail environment, holding a PTS certification is essential, or at least the capacity to obtain one. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working with Natural England and be familiar with the licence application process.
