Your Role and Responsibilities
As a SEND Teacher, you will have the rewarding responsibility of teaching small bespoke class groups of up to 6 pupils, supported by a Teaching Assistant. Your role will include:
* Planning and delivering well-structured lessons that align with the school's curriculum and schemes of work.
* Assessing, monitoring, and reporting on the learning needs, progress, and achievements of your pupils.
* Adapting your teaching methods to meet the diverse strengths and needs of your students.
* Setting high standards that inspire and challenge your pupils.
* Promoting positive progress outcomes.
* Demonstrating secure subject and curriculum knowledge.
* Preparing learners for external tests.
* Teaching across the KS3/KS4 Curriculum and adapting learning for pupils with SEND.
What We’re Looking For
To thrive in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and experience:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
* A relevant degree
* Successful teaching experience, particularly in delivering qualifications up to GCSE
* Experience in Humanities, PE, and/or vocational subject areas is preferred
* Knowledge of the National Curriculum and effective teaching strategies
* Strong understanding of child development and learning
* Ability to build effective relationships with pupils
* Knowledge of child protection and safeguarding practices
* Effective behavior management strategies
* Good ICT skills, especially in using technology to support learning
