They approve budgets, monitor financial performance, and make strategic decisions to secure funding and resources. Community Engagement Acting as ambassadors for Lichfield Arts, trustees foster connections within the community and engage diverse audiences. Their insights help the organisation better understand and serve local interests. Policy and Governance Trustees ensure Lichfield Arts operates in compliance with legal and ethical standards. They develop and implement policies that uphold the organisation's values and enhance effectiveness. Creative Development With diverse backgrounds and experiences, trustees contribute to the organisation's creative development. Their input can lead to innovative programming, collaborations, and partnerships that enrich Lichfield’s cultural offerings. Capacity Building Trustees support the professional development of staff and volunteers, fostering a skilled and motivated team. What are we looking for?
Trustees should ideally have A strong commitment to the arts and the cultural life of Lichfield and the surrounding areas. A willingness to contribute time, skills, and expertise to support the charity’s mission. Strategic thinking and the ability to make informed decisions. A good understanding of governance, accountability, and risk management. The ability to analyse and assess information, ensuring sound financial and organisational oversight. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with fellow trustees, staff, and volunteers. An appreciation of diversity, inclusion, and accessibility in the arts. Lichfield Arts values diversity and welcomes applications from people of all backgrounds. Trustees are not expected to have expertise in every area, but a balance of skills across the Board ensures the charity remains strong, resilient, and well-governed.
