About the Role
Coventry Building Society Arena is seeking a dynamic and experienced Operations Director to lead and oversee the day-to-day operational delivery of one of the UK’s most iconic multi-purpose venues. This is a pivotal leadership role, ensuring the arena remains operationally ready, safe, and capable of delivering world-class experiences for fans, visitors, and event clients.
As a key member of the senior leadership team, you will manage cross-functional operational teams, drive service excellence, and ensure full compliance with all relevant legislation and industry standards. You will also play a strategic role in shaping the arena’s future, ensuring it remains fit for purpose and aligned with evolving commercial, legislative, and sustainability demands.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage all operational functions across the arena, including facilities, safety, security, and event delivery.
* Ensure the venue meets the highest standards of safety, maintenance, and customer experience.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders including Coventry City Football Club (CCFC), Coventry City Council, the Safety Advisory Group, and other regulatory bodies.
* Oversee the planning and execution of major events, ensuring seamless coordination and operational excellence.
* Drive continuous improvement and innovation across operational processes.
* Support the commercial success of the arena through strategic planning and operational adaptability.
* Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental legislation and best practices.

* Experience working with public sector partners, sports clubs, and regulatory authorities is highly desirable.

Essential:
NEBOSH
NVQ 4 – Spectator Safety
Desirable:
Prince 2 – Project Management – 7
Senior Leadership Qualification – L7 or similar
