Job Description
We are seeking an Associate Environmental Field Technician who is eager to develop their expertise in environmental building assessments. This is a field-based position requiring regular on-site work across client locations. In this role, you will support the inspection, testing, and diagnosis of buildings and their systems under normal operating conditions. You will work closely with experienced professionals to collect and analyze environmental data, contributing to high-quality reports that help clients address existing issues and prevent future risks.
Responsibilities
* Prepare for and support fieldwork activities across various sites
* Conduct environmental testing, inspections, and sampling in line with UL Solutions procedures
* Collect, record, and manage data accurately using approved methods and equipment
* Analyze building systems, construction elements, and operational processes
* Ensure environmental impact controls are adhered to during site activities
* Contribute to and produce client reports to a high professional standard
* Support report compilation and documentation processes
* Maintain and calibrate testing instruments and equipment
* Effectively manage time across office, site, and remote working environments
* Collaborate with project managers and senior technicians to deliver projects successfully
Qualifications
* Degree (or equivalent) in Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related discipline or relevant industry experience demonstrating equivalent capability
* Knowledge and experience in buildings and their materials, air and water systems and related issues (preferred)
* Understanding of test equipment and environmental monitoring instruments
* Strong teamwork skills and ability to follow direction from senior colleagues
* Professional communication skills with the ability to engage confidently with clients
* Willingness to learn and develop technical expertise in environmental services
* Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information responsibly
* General understanding of relevant environmental legislation
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access)
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with fluency in English.
