Job Description
In addition to the Program Manager’s technical role, they will provide leadership within the International Office and will be responsible for financial management, mentorship, and personnel management. The Program Manager will have the minimum qualifications of a Principal Investigator in archaeology/cultural heritage/architectural history and will work with the Officers, Director, Office and Regional Principals, and other senior level staff to develop and maintain firm-wide standards. The Program Manager is aligned with the vision of the firm and is responsible for carrying out its mission and enhancing the value for all employees.

Responsibilities
* Provide QA review of proposals and cost estimates to assure the following is provided (at minimum):
* An understanding of the project
* Chronicle Heritage’s qualifications to conduct the work
* Clear scope of work and assumption
* Differentiators
* Schedule
* Pricing strategy
* Reviews of routine proposals may be delegated to other senior staff, as needed
* Ensure that the firm’s review procedures and production guidelines are being properly implemented, that deliverables have been thoroughly reviewed and/or edited, and all deadlines for submittal to clients are adhered to
* Use review opportunities to provide technical and writing feedback and coaching
* Serve as the point-of-contact and internal leader for technical program across the International Office
* Develop organizational structures and maintain staffing mix to effectively execute multiple projects simultaneously across multiple regions
* Collaborate with Technology Division to build and improve innovative tools to facilitate field/lab activities and objectives
* In collaboration with Director and Team Leads, identify key staffing needs for the program in the short- and long-term (e.g., regional PIs, qualified field staff, etc.)
* Oversees or delegates the day-to-day workflow of program personnel
* Develops and manages long-term clients
* Tracks utilization goals and works with staff to develop plans to improve utilization for those not meeting goals
Required Qualifications:
* Advanced degree in archaeology, anthropology, cultural heritage management, or a related field
* 5+ years of increasingly responsible cultural resource management experience
* Knowledge of principles, practices, and techniques of cultural resource management
* Excellent verbal and written skills with the ability to speak and write effectively and persuasively with clients, agencies, and occasionally the public and oversee or author thorough technical reports
* Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to lead a large multi-disciplinary team and promote and sustain effective working relationships with clients, the public, and other agencies
* Excellent organization, schedule, and budget management skills
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)
* Requires knowledge of and experience in applying research methods, forming and maintaining effective client, interagency, and internal team relationship Program Manager (Paleontology, Historical Resources, etc.)
* Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and willingness to travel

* Professional accreditation
* Private consulting firm experience
* Ability to direct collection, analysis, and interpretation of data and formulation of recommendations and solutions to highly complex problems or those involving risk
* Ability to manage projects and teams as a leader and/or supervisor and to handle multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment
Physical And Mental Requirements and Work Environment
* Regular fieldwork or on-site inspections are required, which necessitates ability to frequently travel/drive a vehicle (sight, hearing, and manual manipulation of driving mechanisms), cognitive ability to plan travel, use maps or GPS navigation systems.
* May require ambulation and movement to enable walking or hiking 10+ miles per day on rough and/or hazardous terrain and occasional climbing, crouching, kneeling, balancing on rough terrain. Fieldwork may involve exposure to conditions of rain, sun, heat, wind, dust, etc., with exposure to animals, plants, wet conditions, biting insects, poison oak, etc. May require use of respiratory equipment.
* Some fieldwork may require carrying loads up to 25 pounds or work around heavy construction equipment.
* Vision is required to observe environmental phenomena and record and translate observations into text (either keyboard entry on a computer or dictation and audio translation of recording to Standard English scientific text).
* Mental requirements include ability to organize one’s own work or that of crew members; ability to recognize and observe scientific data and analyze data as well as ability to perform calculations. Must also be able to observe social and professional interactions and respond appropriately.
* Some work is performed primarily in an indoor environment and requires sustained sitting and use of fingers, hands, and arms to operate a computer and perform keyboard entry of data or document preparation (or equivalent with accommodation). Must also be able to operation standard office equipment (phone, copy machine, FAX machine, etc.)
