Year 3 SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant (ASC) – ASAP Start Location: WA9 – St Helens Role Type: Full-time, term time Start Date: ASAP Duration: Potentially until the end of the academic year Pay Rate: £14.25 - £15.50 per hour (DOE) Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a welcoming and supportive RC primary school in the WA9 area, who are seeking a dedicated SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a Year 3 pupil with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC). The Role – Job Description As a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant, you will: Provide individualised support to a Year 3 pupil with ASC Support the pupil’s academic progress, emotional regulation, and social development Implement strategies in line with the pupil’s EHCP Work closely with the class teacher, SENCo, and external professionals Encourage independence while providing consistent, structured support Help create a calm, positive, and inclusive learning environment Support the pupil both inside and outside of the classroom as required The Ideal Candidate We are looking for someone who is: Experienced in supporting children with ASC and/or SEN (school experience preferred) Patient, calm, and nurturing, with a genuine passion for SEN support Confident in managing behaviour and supporting emotional needs Able to build strong, trusting relationships with pupils and staff Adaptable and proactive in their approach to learning support Holding a TA qualification or relevant SEN training (desirable but not essential) Why Work with Teaching Personnel?
