Criminology Graduate – School Support Assistant (Primary & Secondary)

Pay Rate: £85–£100 per day
Are you a Criminology graduate looking to begin your career working with children and young people? Schools across Wigan are seeking graduates with an interest in behaviour, safeguarding and pastoral care to support pupils who need additional guidance throughout the school day.
These roles offer valuable experience for anyone considering careers in policing, youth offending services, probation, social care or education.
About the Role:
* Supporting pupils who present behavioural, social or emotional challenges
* Encouraging positive choices, engagement and routines
* Working with students one-to-one and in small groups
* Assisting the pastoral and safeguarding teams with daily support
* Helping to maintain a calm, structured and safe learning environment
* Building confidence, trust and resilience in young people
Required Skills and Qualities:
* A Criminology (or similar) degree
* Confident, patient and able to build rapport quickly
* Strong communication and problem-solving skills
* A genuine interest in behaviour support and youth development
* Experience with young people is helpful but not essential
