OUR VALUES IN ACTION

* Care and Compassion
* Quality and Teamwork
* Dignity and Respect
* Openness, Honesty and Responsibility

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our Planning and Performance team, supporting the development and delivery of planning and improvement activity across healthcare services for the Borders community.

In this role, you will contribute to the co‑ordination of the annual planning cycle, be involved in the development of the Annual Delivery Plan and the monitoring of this, alongside supporting service redesign projects. You will help to prepare business cases, contribute to strategic initiatives, and support the maintenance of robust performance management systems. You will also support the planning and delivery of workshops across the organisation. Working closely with senior managers, clinicians and partner organisations, you will play a key role in ensuring services are well‑coordinated, efficient and aligned to the organisational priorities.

The ideal candidate will bring experience from a health or public sector environment, along with strong organisational, analytical and project management skills. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities are essential.

You will be part of a collaborative, supportive and highly motivated team, with opportunities to develop your skills and make a meaningful contribution to improving services and outcomes for patients across the Borders.

Working Hours

As from 1st April 2026 the Agenda for Change full‑time working week reduced from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part time hours reduced pro‑rata. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.

Legal & Eligibility

Due to legislative changes from 1 April 2025, this post may require a different level of criminal records check than is currently the case. If the post is assessed as a "regulated role", your appointment will be subject to joining the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme. If there is any change to what is currently required, this will be confirmed by either the Hiring Manager or the Recruitment Team.

It is ESSENTIAL that you have checked that you either already have an appropriate right to work in the UK or that the post would be eligible to be sponsored BEFORE submitting your application form.

PLEASE NOTE: We cannot accept late applications so please ensure your application is submitted early.

Equality and Diversity

NHS Scotland is committed to encouraging equality and diversity among our workforce and eliminating unlawful discrimination. The aim is for our workforce to be truly representative and for each employee to feel respected and able to give their best. To this end, NHS Scotland welcomes applications from all sections of society.
