This role is a 6-month fixed-term position based at our Riduna Office in Melton, near Woodbridge, working Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm. You should have a clean driving license and access to your own vehicle, as travel to other offices in Norfolk and Suffolk may be required.
What You'll Be Doing
* Contact tenants who have missed rent payments or are at risk of falling into rent debt.
* Support tenants by completing income & expenditure forms and understanding their circumstances to put realistic action plans in place.
* Maintain contact with tenants until their rent account is in advance or no longer at risk, keeping accurate records of all communications and actions.
* Collaborate with other teams to address issues such as property condition, anti-social behaviour, and repairs.
* Work with external agencies like DWP, Citizens Advice, and Local Authorities to ensure tenants receive necessary support.
* Assist your manager in promoting our vision, "Housing Made Simple," making renting easier for tenants while complying with laws, legislation, and policies.
This role involves supporting tenants to overcome rent debt, reducing rent arrears, and increasing tenants paying in advance. You will be able to advise on welfare benefits, handle complex Universal Credit cases, assist with benefit application forms, and signpost to benefit agencies as needed.
What We Are Looking For
* Previous experience in a customer-focused role, whether face-to-face or over the phone. If you have other relevant experience, we are eager to hear about it!
* Excellent communication skills, confidence with numbers, and the ability to write clear, concise correspondence.
* Ability to stay calm and de-escalate difficult conversations, manage a varied workload, and prioritize using data analysis.
* Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships and ensure tenants can stay in their homes.
* Opportunity to develop your communication, administration, and customer service skills while expanding your knowledge of the housing sector.
