Contract Type: Full Time, Term-time only
Daily Rate: £ – £ per day.
Working Hours: 08:30 – 15:30
Start Date: February 2026

Prospero Teaching is working in partnership with one specialist setting that supports pupils with SEMH needs, often alongside Autism, ADHD, and additional learning needs. The provision offers a structured, nurturing environment focused on emotional regulation, positive behaviour, and re-engaging young people with learning.
With small class sizes, high staff-to-student ratios, and a dedicated multidisciplinary team, the setting delivers personalised support that prioritises resilience, confidence, independence, and essential life skills, alongside academic development.
About the Role:
As a Student Support Mentor, you will play a vital role in supporting students both on a 1:1 basis and in small groups. Your responsibilities will include:
1. Supporting pupils with a range of special educational needs
2. Assisting with the delivery of tailored learning activities
3. Promoting positive behaviour and emotional regulation
4. Supporting the development of social skills, independence, and confidence
5. Working closely with teachers, therapists, and support staff
6. Contributing to a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment
7. Supporting and managing challenging behaviour using appropriate strategies

8. Experience working with children or young people with special educational needs is desirable but not essential
9. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
10. A calm, compassionate, and proactive approach
11. A genuine commitment to inclusion and supporting every child to succeed
To Be Eligible You Must:
12. Hold the Right to Work in the UK
13. Hold, or be willing to apply for, an Enhanced DBS (Child Barred List) registered with the Update Service
14. Be able to provide two professional, child-related references
