We are currently seeking a Lecturer in Science to join our Science Department. The role involves delivering teaching, learning and assessment across a range of Science programmes, supporting student achievement and contributing to curriculum delivery. The successful candidate will undertake a teaching load in line with the agreed contract and support delivery across a range of qualifications, including BTEC, A Level, AAQ and/or T Level. Applicants may have a specialism in Biology, Chemistry or Physics; however, there is an expectation to contribute across the wider Science curriculum where required. Key Responsibilities Deliver teaching across Science programmes as directed Contribute to curriculum planning and development Prepare and deliver learning materials using ILT Assess student work and maintain accurate records Undertake course leadership and tutorial responsibilities Participate in quality assurance and course team activities Support the development of Science provision Skills, Knowledge and Expertise Degree or relevant qualification in a Science subject Level 5 teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards) Experience delivering Science qualifications Ability to teach one or more Science disciplines (Biology, Chemistry, Physics) Experience delivering BTEC, A Level, AAQ and/or T Level (desirable) Knowledge of assessment and verification processes (desirable) Teaching Qualifications & Salary Banding To be eligible for our Qualified Lecturer salary banding (£31,837 - £48,160), you must hold one of the following teaching qualifications: ✅ Accepted Qualifications: DTTLS (Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector) Certificate in Education PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education) ProfGCE (Professional Graduate Certificate in Education) DET (Diploma in Education and Training) DiT (Diploma in Teaching) – if for a vocational subject If you do not hold one of the above qualifications, you will fall into our Unqualified Lecturer salary banding (£26,661 - £29,998). ❌ Not Accepted as Stand Alone Qualifications: PTLLS (Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector) CTLLS (Certificate in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector) CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults) SFHEA (Senior Fellowship) Masters in Education TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) If you have any questions regarding your eligibility, please get in touch.
