Marketing Director – Medscape Education (Global & US) – Medscape Education, part of WebMD, is the world’s leading platform for accredited medical education, trusted by millions of healthcare professionals worldwide. As we enter an exciting new phase of growth, we are building a best-in-class marketing function to better serve our global pharmaceutical and medical communications partners.
This is a senior, high-visibility role that defines and leads the global marketing strategy for Medscape Education across the US and international markets. You will have the mandate to build and scale a global marketing organization that strengthens our value proposition, enhances our positioning with pharma and biotech clients, and accelerates growth across therapeutic areas and geographies. This is a unique opportunity to join an established, trusted brand—while shaping a modern, forward-looking marketing function with significant executive sponsorship.
Key Responsibilities
* Leadership & Team Development
o Build, mentor, and lead a growing team of marketing professionals in the US and UK.
o Set the strategic direction and oversee execution of integrated marketing programs.
* Strategy & Planning
o Develop and own the global marketing plan (US and outside-US), aligning to commercial goals and evolving pharma/biotech market needs.
o Shape Medscape Education’s go-to-market strategy, brand positioning, and client-facing messaging.
* Partnership & Collaboration
o Partner with senior commercial leaders to translate therapeutic area priorities and client needs into impactful marketing strategies.
o Collaborate with product, content, and partnership teams to drive market differentiation.
* Brand & Market Presence
o Lead the development of high-quality messaging, campaigns, and thought leadership that articulate Medscape’s value to global pharma and medical communications partners.
o Oversee our presence at key industry events, channels, and forums to reinforce market leadership.
* Innovation & Optimization
o Introduce new tools, processes, and approaches to enhance efficiency, measurement, and impact.
o Provide a forward-thinking perspective on how Medscape Education engages pharma clients globally.
What We’re Looking For
* Industry Expertise
o Deep experience in marketing to pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical education audiences. Understanding of medical affairs is highly advantageous.
* Leadership Experience
o 10+ years in senior B2B healthcare/pharma marketing roles, including several years in a leadership capacity.
o Demonstrated success building or scaling global marketing teams and functions.
* Strategic & Commercial Acumen
o Strong track record partnering with commercial organizations to shape strategy and drive revenue growth.
o Proven ability to design and deliver integrated marketing plans that achieve measurable outcomes.
* Skills & Attributes
o Excellent communicator with the ability to engage senior stakeholders and clients confidently.
o Adept at balancing strategic thinking with operational execution.
o Experience managing budgets, planning cycles, and global initiatives in matrixed organizations.
