Electromechanical Fitter / Installer A specialist automation and control systems company is seeking an experienced Electromechanical Fitter / Installer to join its team on a full-time, permanent basis. This is a hands-on position working on the build and installation of bespoke automation machinery and systems, both in-house and on customer sites in the UK and North America. The company designs, builds, and installs factory automation systems including conveyors, robotics, packaging machinery, and vision inspection equipment. Key Responsibilities: * Mechanical assembly of automation machinery, conveyors, and systems in the workshop and on customer sites. * Work with mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems, including valves and sub-assemblies. * Read and interpret engineering drawings, following written instructions and method statements. * Carry out installations at customer sites in the UK and overseas (typically 30–40% travel). * Support control system builds, including basic wiring and cabling when required. * Ensure all work meets the highest quality standards and is completed on time. * Adhere to health and safety procedures at all times and maintain a safe working environment. * Represent the company professionally on customer sites, building trust and maintaining strong relationships. Requirements: * Apprentice-trained and/or qualified Mechanical and/or Electrical Fitter/Assembler. * Minimum 3 years’ experience building and installing industrial machinery, conveyors, or automation equipment. * Skilled in the use of general hand tools and power tools. * Knowledge of pneumatic systems and experience with medium-sized assemblies. * Ability to work from detailed engineering drawings with strong attention to detail. * Previous experience in hygienic environments (e.g. food & beverage) desirable. * Self-motivated, reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team. * Full UK driving licence (3 penalty points or less). * Able and willing to travel for up to 2 weeks at a time in the UK, USA, and Canada. * Must hold a valid British or EU passport to allow unrestricted travel. * Fluent in English; additional languages an advantage. Working Hours: Monday to Thursday: 08:00 – 17:00 (30-minute unpaid lunch break) Friday: 08:00 – 14:00 Overtime available. Salary & Benefits: £15.00 – £17.50 per hour (depending on experience).
