We are seeking an inspirational and passionate Business Education Teacher to join the Computing and Business Education department at The Royal High School.
The Royal High School is one of Scotland's oldest schools, with a rich history and a commitment to innovation. It is a non-denominational, 6-year comprehensive school drawing students from four catchment primary schools: Blackhall, Clermiston, Cramond, and Davidson’s Mains.
The school's leadership team includes the Headteacher, four Depute Headteachers, and the Business Manager. The teaching staff comprises approximately 100 FTE, with additional support staff including Pupil Support Assistants and an integrated Support for Learning team.
The school was refurbished in 2004, offering high-standard facilities, including extensive use of social and teaching spaces, a Community Sports Hub, and refurbished PE facilities supporting a vibrant extracurricular program. The school is expanding, with new extensions opening in 2024.
Royal High School maintains strong links with parents, local businesses, and the community, with active Parent and Former Pupils’ groups. The school’s ethos emphasizes achievement, diversity, creativity, resilience, and pride in its heritage.
Salaries are aligned with the Scheme of Salaries and Conditions of Service for Teaching Staff in School Education.
This position involves regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the PVG Scheme. The successful candidate will need to join or update their PVG Scheme membership. Additional checks, such as an Overseas Criminal Record Check, may be required based on recent travel history. Employment is contingent upon satisfactory completion of these checks.
