People and Projects Business Partner (9-month FTC)

A rare and exciting opportunity has opened up within the JCT600 People team for a People and Projects Business Partner to join us on a 9-month fixed term contract.

Working as part of a talented and supportive People team, this role offers a rich mix of strategic business partnering and impactful project work, with a strong focus on creating the very best colleague experience across JCT600.

You’ll act as a trusted advisor and coach to senior leaders, using insight, data and curiosity to ask the right questions, challenge thinking and help optimise the performance and engagement of our people. This is a role where you can genuinely make a difference in a successful family business that truly cares about its colleagues.


The Role

This is a regional role supporting a number of sites across Yorkshire, offering flexibility around where you are based (Leeds, Bradford, Sheffield, Doncaster or York). Regular travel to sites will be required to build strong relationships and maintain a visible presence.


What You’ll Be Doing

* Providing proactive, commercially focused People partnering support to your business areas, developing a deep understanding of performance, priorities and challenges.
* Creating and delivering effective people plans, using data and insight to drive meaningful actions and solutions.
* Driving the JCT600 colleague experience agenda, creating the conditions for colleagues to thrive.
* Coaching and supporting line managers across the full people lifecycle, including:
* Talent and succession planning
* Resource planning and recruitment
* Performance management
* Engagement and organisational change
* Working closely with our Colleague Relations team to deliver high-quality, pragmatic and commercially sound ER advice, sharing key insights with senior leaders.
* Playing an active role in delivering our ‘Licence to Lead’ management development programme, supporting our commitment to building confident and capable leaders.
* Leading and contributing to key People projects that support the ongoing development of our colleague experience.


About You

* Proven experience in a generalist HR / People role, with strong capability across Employee Relations, Learning & Development, Talent Management, Recruitment, Performance, and Engagement.
* A genuine passion for people, with the experience and credibility to influence at all levels.
* A strong, up-to-date understanding of HR best practice across the full colleague lifecycle.
* A collaborative team player who is also comfortable working independently and at pace.
* Able to quickly build trusting, effective relationships with leaders and colleagues.
* A straightforward, down-to-earth communicator with excellent listening skills.
* Compassionate yet commercial in approach, always striving to go above and beyond.
* Comfortable operating in a regional role with regular travel.
