Mechanical Maintenance Fitter - Nights

Salary: £60,000 - £62,000 per annum
Location: Cannock, Staffordshire area
Shift Pattern: 4 on / 4 off (6am–6pm)
Benefits: Overtime opportunities, contributory pension, annual bonus, tool allowance, life assurance policy.

The facility operates at scale, with a mix of automated and traditional production processes, and continues to invest in both equipment and workforce capability.

You’ll be joining a site with a strong engineering culture, modernising plant, and a steady pipeline of work, offering both stability and ongoing technical challenge.

The Opportunity

This role offers the chance to work within a busy, high-output manufacturing environment, maintaining and improving a variety of industrial systems and equipment.

Key duties include:

* Carrying out both planned maintenance and reactive repairs using a CMMS system

* Diagnosing and resolving mechanical faults across components such as pumps, gearboxes, bearings, and fluid power systems

* Assisting with installation, upgrades, and relocation of machinery

* Contributing to reliability improvements and efficiency initiatives

* Maintaining high standards of safety and operational performance across the plant

Candidate Profile

To be considered, you should have:

* A recognised Level 3 qualification in an engineering discipline (e.g. NVQ or apprenticeship)

* Previous experience in a manufacturing, process, or heavy industrial setting

* Strong hands-on mechanical skills, particularly with hydraulics and pneumatics

* Confidence interpreting engineering drawings and technical information

* A proactive, team-oriented approach to maintenance and problem-solving

* Familiarity with industrial production equipment and automated systems
