Role overview:
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to join our clients pre-construction team. You will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for electrical installations and renewable projects, supporting tenders, and contributing to successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
* Review drawings, specifications, and tender documents to prepare accurate electrical cost estimates.
* Compile comprehensive tender packages, including materials, labour, plant, and subcontractor quotations.
* Identify cost-saving opportunities and propose alternative solutions without compromising safety or performance.
* Assess risks and provide clear breakdowns of cost assumptions.
* Liaise with project managers, engineers, procurement, and suppliers to gather information and validate estimates.
* Support client engagement during tendering, clarifications, and negotiations.
* Produce detailed cost schedules, BOQs (Bills of Quantities), and supporting reports.
* Maintain accurate records of all estimates and tender submissions.
* Stay up to date with current material, labour, and subcontractor rates.
* Monitor industry developments in electrical and renewable technologies.
Essential Skills & Experience:
* Experience as an Electrical Estimator, ideally in a building service or contracting environment.
* HNC/HND or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
* Strong knowledge of electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, fire alarms, security, and renewable energy (solar PV, EV charging, etc.).
