This is a key role within our HR function, working in close partnership with business leaders to identify capability needs, design impactful learning solutions, and drive a culture of continuous development across the organisation. What is the job about? This role plays a key part in shaping and delivering MacTaggart Scott’s learning and development strategy. Working closely with senior leaders and managers, you will identify capability gaps, design and deliver impactful learning solutions, and support the development of our people at all levels. You will also play a key role in strengthening performance and talent processes, improving our appraisal framework, and ensuring learning initiatives are effective, measurable, and aligned to business needs. Success in this role will come from strong relationships, practical delivery, and the ability to turn insight into action. Key Responsibilities will include but are not limited to: Partner with senior leaders and stakeholders to identify learning needs and deliver L&D strategies aligned to business objectives Design, develop, and deliver engaging learning solutions using a range of methods, including workshops and e-learning Support performance management and talent development by providing tools, training, and guidance to managers Work with managers to identify high-potential employees and support succession and development planning Evaluate the effectiveness of learning initiatives using data, feedback, and performance metrics, driving continuous improvement Build strong relationships across the business and promote the value and impact of L&D Ensure all learning activity complies with relevant regulations and standards Maintain accurate records and provide reporting on L&D activity and outcomes Facilitate training sessions where required and identify cost-effective solutions to maximise L&D impact Requirements About You Proven experience in Learning & Development, ideally within an engineering, manufacturing, or similarly regulated environment Track record of designing and delivering L&D strategies and programmes that deliver measurable impact Confident facilitator with strong written and verbal communication skills Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to build credible relationships at all levels of the organisation Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver effectively in a fast-paced environment Creative yet practical approach to improving performance and developing people Strong attention to detail, with the ability to manage training data and reporting accurately Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) Desirable: Experience within defence, naval, engineering or manufacturing sectors Experience supporting appraisal, performance management, or succession planning processes Experience with learning management systems or e-learning tools Relevant CIPD, L&D, coaching or facilitation qualification Benefits Your future at MacTaggart Scott – What we offer: As part of our Healthy Work-Life Balance, employees can choose between a 4- or 5-day working week Flexible working hours between 07:00 and 19:00, with core hours of 09:30 - 15:30 A comprehensive leave policy including annual leave, paid parental leave, and military reservist leave A supportive and engaging environment with opportunities to grow your career Access to a comprehensive wellbeing programme, Employee Assistance Programme, and onsite nurse Onsite canteen, free parking, and cycle-to-work scheme Generous company pension plan, employee discounts, and free flu vaccinations Life insurance, sick pay, and a strong focus on health and wellbeing
