Up to £60,000 depending on skills and experience What you’ll be doing: Support to engineers at supplier sites and regular, direct engagement with T26 counterparts to obtain and share best practice Management and mentoring of junior engineers in the Platform Monitoring & Control team to support the scope as agreed with the PM&C Engineering Manager Working with stakeholders across the platform to understand the technical impact of incoming changes and ensuring alignment in change impact assessments with the supplier Support to PM&C engineers in Australia in resolving technical queries with UK counterparts and the supplier, and representation of PM&C in UK forums Leading UK functional integration activities and engaging with system owners to enable delivery of PMS software Your skills and experiences: Proven track record of leading effort in PM&C design activities. Knowledge of previous Naval Ships and/or Australian platforms and their approaches to distributed control systems Good working experience in complex programs and multi-disciplinary teams Good working experience in more than one phase of Life Cycle Management, with sufficient experience of the total LCM to enable a good understanding of adjacent phases and through life engineering issues Understanding of the need to capture and maintain design data generated for use by the project and the tools and techniques so used, particularly database centric toolsets Knowledge of T26 PMS system: PMS signal schedule, PMS functional specifications and interface control documents Some knowledge of other Platform Systems (e.g. Auxiliaries, HVAC, Electrical, Power and Propulsion) and Combat Systems would be beneficial. HCF Platform Monitoring and Control (PM&C) UK Team: Successful delivery of the Platform Management System (PMS) is one of the key activities on the HCF program critical path which needs to be achieved to deliver the ship on schedule for the customer. This role is vital to ensuring that the delivery team and the suppliers deliver a product that, once fully integrated, incorporates all required changes to the platform. The role is crucial in managing the design dependency with the T26 Reference Ship Design and ensuring effective embodiment of HCF change into the HCF design by the supplier. Why BAE Systems?
