An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join the Engineering & Maintenance team within a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. You'll play a key role in ensuring production runs smoothly by maintaining and repairing machinery, minimising downtime, and supporting continuous improvement across the site. Key Responsibilities Carry out routine electrical and mechanical maintenance, fault finding, and inspections on production equipment. Deliver reactive repairs on high-speed, PLC-controlled machinery, handling systems, and packaging lines. Work with pneumatic, hydraulic and electromechanical systems. Support the production team by resolving breakdowns quickly and effectively. Perform preventative and predictive maintenance routines and follow up with accurate reports and follow-through. Monitor machine performance, respond to faults, and identify opportunities to improve efficiency. Engage with suppliers and contractors during new installations, upgrades, or modifications. Maintain accurate records using the site's Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS). Ensure safe working practices, participate in toolbox talks, and complete permits to work and risk assessments (training provided). Contribute to high standards of food safety, hygiene, and H&S compliance. Keep your working environment clean and organised, supporting 5S and lean initiatives. Be available to work the 4 on / 4 off dayshift rotation. Experience: Recognised Mechanical and/or Electrical qualification is essential. Experience within a manufacturing environment required; food production experience preferred. Strong diagnostic and root cause analysis skills. Understanding of PLC logic is beneficial (not essential). Working knowledge of steam, refrigeration, and compressed air systems is a bonus. Positive, proactive, and solutions-focused approach.
