Reporting to the Project HSEQ Lead, the HSE Advisor provides essential day‑to‑day HSE support to the project team, ensuring compliance with regulations and the THREE60 management system. The role is integrated within a multi‑discipline bp Andrew decommissioning project team.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide practical, professional HSE support to the project team and contribute to effective delivery of the project HSE plan.
* Work with the Project HSEQ Lead and leadership team to develop and execute an HSE plan that ensures full legislative and management system compliance.
* Implement and maintain HSE policies and procedures in line with legislation, guidance, and industry best practice.
* Ensure HSE policies, procedures, and standards are clearly communicated, understood, and effectively applied.
* Conduct site/offshore inspections and assurance activities to verify compliance with Life‑Saving Rules, Process Safety Leadership Principles, management system requirements, and regulatory standards.
* Build strong relationships across the organisation and provide clear, practical HSE advice to support project delivery.
* Lead accident and incident investigations, ensuring accurate information is gathered and corrective actions identified.
* Analyse incident causes, co‑ordinate lessons learned, and support actions to prevent recurrence.
* Support the development, monitoring, and reporting of HSE KPIs and targets.
* Develop and review risk assessments and work packs to ensure legislative and procedural compliance.
* Provide HSE input to tenders, due diligence, and business development activities.
* Promote positive safety behaviours and drive continuous improvement to strengthen HSE culture.
* Support Occupational Health and HR teams in delivering well‑being programmes.
* Ensure all work is carried out safely and in compliance with HSE policies and procedures.
* Undertake additional reasonable duties within the scope of the role as required.
Competence Requirements
Knowledge & Qualifications
* Recognised HSE Qualification (NEBOSH general certificate or diploma) is essential.
* Environmental qualification would be advantageous.
* Knowledge of ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 requirements and auditing standards is desirable.
* Knowledge of UK HSE regulatory framework, including specific legislation applicable to activities in the offshore energy sector is desirable.
* Valid OGUK Medical, MIST and BOSIET is desirable.
Skills & Experience
* Experience in an HSE role within the offshore energy industry is preferable.
* Strong analytical abilities and high‑quality reporting skills are desirable.
* Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision is desirable.
* Ability to influence, coach, and positively guide others is desirable.
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to build strong, collaborative relationships are essential.
* Demonstrable ability to adapt to change, lead change processes, and promote behaviours aligned with the organisation’s aims and values is essential.
