We are on a mission to transform the quality of education provided to young people with SEN (Special Education Needs) / SEND (Special Education Needs and Disabilities), as well as other needs such as SEMH needs (Social, Emotional and Mental Health). We are increasingly supporting children and young people with MLD (Moderate Learning Difficulties) and SLD (Severe Learning Difficulties).
We are looking for SEN / SEND tutors with a genuine passion for transforming the lives of disengaged, at-risk, and vulnerable learners in Northumberland.
At Targeted Provision, our mission is to raise the standard of educational support offered to vulnerable young people in the UK. We keep the team around the child, and you will be supported throughout every placement by our team of SEN / SEND Support Specialists.
This role is perfect for qualified SEN / SEND teachers who are eager to work via 1:1 tutoring with children and young people with a variety of learning needs, in a creative, flexible, holistic, and trauma-informed manner, to raise their engagement and drastically improve their educational outlook.

The SEN / SEND Tutor role:
* Providing Maths, English, or Science tuition to young people with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, or other Additional Educational Needs referred to Targeted Provision
* Supporting young people referred by local authorities and schools, addressing their educational and social-emotional needs
* Delivering flexible, holistic, trauma-informed tutoring and mentoring
SEN / SEND Tutor tasks and responsibilities:
* Planning each teaching/tutoring/mentoring session
* Providing engaging sessions tailored to meet individual needs and support their educational and social-emotional development
* Completing lesson reports and providing feedback on progress
SEN / SEND Tutor requirements:
* Professional Teaching Qualifications (QTS / QTLS)
* Minimum 2 years teaching experience
* Experience working with young people with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, or other needs
* Knowledge of safeguarding processes
* Enhanced DBS (assistance available if needed)
* Two professional references
* Based in the UK with the right to work, including for remote/online roles
It is a strict requirement to promote health, safety, and wellbeing, following safeguarding policies at all times.
SEN / SEND Tutor employment status:
* Engagement as a Worker for short-term placements
* Paid via PAYE under a contract for service
* No set work amount or expenses coverage
* Insurance covers your work
* This is not a self-employed position
