The role:
We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Senior Control Engineer to lead our Service Control Engineers. The successful candidate will manage a team of Control Engineers in providing Technical Support & aftersales care for RIHC’s products in the Offshore Energy sector; ensuring clients’ needs are met in a professional & timely manner.
You will be responsible for:
1. Leadership and development of a small team of Control Engineers.
2. Providing Technical support, Investigation and resolution of Control System related issues across a wide range of RIHC products.
3. Implementing upgrades and updates to existing RIHC equipment.
4. Ensuring customers are well supported in their service needs and technical issues are resolved quickly and efficiently to maintain high customer satisfaction.
5. Efficient Management & Prioritisation of workload for the Engineers.
6. Delivering a high standard of work in line with our Software quality control procedures.
Job requirements:
7. Strong engineering background with a thorough technical knowledge of Control, Automation and Safety Systems and equipment
8. Appropriate Computer/Engineering related qualification (degree/HND) or comparable industrial experience
9. Experience in:Design of control & automation systemsProgramming of PLC, HMI & SCADA systemsCommissioning, Testing and Client Support of industrial control systemsInvolvement throughout the whole project lifecycle, from design through coding to testing, installation and documentation
10. Management & Development of a small team of Engineers
11. Working for clients in the marine, subsea, oil & gas and renewables market.
12. Recent experience of a similar role in a bespoke engineering environment / providing service support
13. Role requires a mixture of working from RIHC’s Port of Blyth facility and other client sites / vessels around the world.
14. Experience of working to ISO9001 or equivalent in a project based organisation.
15. A high level of competence with IT systems and tools
16. Excellent Customer Service skills
Desirable Skills / Attributes:
17. Experience of Siemens TIA Portal / Unified (preferred)
18. Experience of Rockwell or Mitsubishi platforms
19. Experience of configuring & commissioning Variable Speed Drives (Siemens, Nidec & ABB)
20. Previous experience within the Marine / Offshore / Subsea environment
21. Knowledge & experience of relevant functional safety standards (IEC61508, IEC61511, IEC13849)
22. Chartered Engineer status
23. Availability to travel at short notice
