The Asset Delivery team are a key part of how we plan to meet the changing expectations of customers and regulators.
The Manager of Engineering Performance will support the development and delivery of business strategy through a systematic approach driving ‘outside-in’ thinking, insight generation and shaping and prioritising change initiatives. Ownership of tactical Proof Of Concepts for maintenance improvement, working with teams to deliver results and embed change within the Engineering discipline.
The Manager of Engineering Performance will provide leadership and clear direction to lead and drive the improvement of Engineering and Maintenance performance across the above ground maintenance activities. The Engineering Performance manager will lead the identification and delivery of early/tactical outcomes and benefits whilst building momentum and change advocacy within the business. The individual will embrace the opportunity to learn new skills and ways of working in change delivery, to create and lead a sustained change management capability within the business.
Where you fit in:
As our Manager of Engineering Performance you will;
* To provide leadership to a wide-ranging team of continuous improvement professionals and project managers & work in partnership with the wider Engineering teams and those in a maintenance role across the business to identify areas of sub optimal performance and develop projects to improve it.
* Act as the liaison between localised early/tactical outcomes and the wider strategic initiatives across the business.
* Actively manage and measure outputs against the agreed success criteria .
* Provide an active role in mitigating impediments impacting successful team delivery.
* Acts as ‘Product Owner’ within Agile delivery.
* Prioritise key activities to streamline execution of programme priorities.
* Maximises value produced by the team whilst ensuring outputs meet the users requirements.
* Manage, lead, support and coach SMEs within the team and business units to gain the best value and quality of their specialism, knowledge and expertise whilst having an understanding of how departmental culture.
* Ensure the approach complies with current relevant legislation and best practice.
* Identify synergies and interdependencies between portfolio projects and initiatives, effectively mitigate risks and navigate through interdependencies.
* Design, deploy, and embed metrics and management information to drive transformational performance and business decisions and demonstrate impact of planned interventions.
* Build relationships and influence management behaviours to adopt holistic thinking and agile work practices to support transformation and change activities.
* Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure alignment of thinking, design and deployment of integrated solutions
* Actively engage with colleagues across the company to maximise the implementation of successful change
* Membership of appropriate governance forums and Committees across the business.
* Work with the management teams to collaborate across portfolio programmes ensuring requirements meet stakeholder needs and solutions are fit for purpose

What skills & qualifications you will need:
* Experience of leading and managing operational teams within water / wastewater
* Strong knowledge and experience of business processes and systems linked to all elements of MEICA and Operational above ground maintenance.
* Previous experience of managing change in a fast pace operational environment
* Strong stakeholder management and experience of managing a wide network effectively
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage, influence and inspire in order to create collaboration and alignment
* Strong leadership skills able to lead both direct and matrix teams across the business
* Ability to work in face paced delivery and able to manage multiple tasks effectively
* Proactive, self motivated, organized and takes personal accountability
You will also benefit from having:
* Experience in the water industry or similar utility
* Experience in business transformation methodologies
* Experience leading transformation programs in large organisations
* A recognised qualification in improvement, such as Lean Six Sigma Yellow, Green or Black belt
