About the Role
We're Looking for a VR Developer to join our team based from Helensburgh. This role benefits from our 4xFlex working pattern offering a 4 day week Monday - Thursday. We also operate a hybrid working pattern with typically 2-3 days onsite per week.
Be part of a team delivering the next generation of secure military communications satellites for the UK Ministry of Defence. In this role, you’ll design, develop, and maintain cutting-edge VR training simulations and interactive experiences using Unity. Collaborating closely with graphic designers and fellow developers, you’ll help shape the future of immersive training solutions. The individual selected for this role will be responsible for:
1. Develop efficient, reusable, and reliable VR/AR code using Unity and C++.
2. Optimise VR / AR performance to deliver seamless and immersive user experiences.
3. Implement interactive features, UI elements, animations, and visual effects.
4. Troubleshoot, debug, and refine applications based on feedback.
5. Stay ahead of industry trends and integrate the latest VR/ AR technologies.
6. Participate in code reviews and contribute to best practices in development workflows.

Required skills, qualifications and experience
7. Proven experience with VR Development Platforms: Familiarity with Unity3D.
8. Strong knowledge of Unreal Engine, C++ and Azure DevOps.
9. Some experience with ScopeAR WorkLink, Unreal Engine / C++ and Azure DevOps
10. Experience with multiplayer development is desired – especially setting up LAN / self-hosted multiplayer networks.
11. 3D Modelling and Animation: Understanding of 3D modelling software with Blender. VR
12. Hardware Knowledge: Experience with VR headsets such as HTC Vive and HoloLens.
13. Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot and solve complex technical issues.
14. Creativity: Innovative thinking for creating immersive VR experiences.
15. Team Collaboration: Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
16. Educational Background: Degree in Computer Science, Game Development, or relevant experience.
17. Portfolio: Demonstrated experience through a portfolio of VR projects.
18. Continuous Learning: Willingness to stay updated with the latest VR technologies and trends.
