Job Description
We are seeking an Electrical Engineer with experience in PLC and HMI programming, electrical system design, and project management.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop PLC and HMI programs using Rockwell Studio 5000, FactoryTalk View, and similar software.
2. Design effective electrical systems for custom machinery in collaboration with the team.
3. Assist in developing project cost estimates based on electrical system knowledge.
4. Create detailed electrical schematics using AutoCAD Electrical.
5. Prepare accurate bills of materials and coordinate procurement with office staff.
6. Ensure control panels comply with UL508A standards.
7. Interpret customer requirements through communication and written specifications.
8. Manage electrical projects from conception to completion.
9. Guide colleagues in building electrical control panels.
10. Engage in technical communication and design reviews with customers and vendors.
11. Provide technical support for equipment installation and maintenance.
12. Coordinate design efforts with production schedules and provide project updates.
13. Implement system safety, productivity, quality, and cost improvements.
14. Collaborate with technicians to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
15. Analyze test data to verify design performance.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field with relevant experience.
* Minimum of 4 years in electrical design for automated equipment, preferably in manufacturing.
* At least 2 years of experience with Rockwell Studio 5000 and FactoryTalk View.
* Knowledge of 480VAC, 240VAC, 120VAC, 24VDC systems, VFDs, sensors, and instrumentation.
* Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical.
* Knowledge of electrical codes such as UL508A, NEC, and NFPA.
* Strong mechanical aptitude and communication skills.
* Ability to meet deadlines and manage commitments.
* Experience in field investigations and client interactions.
* Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and navigate rough terrain.
* Willingness to travel occasionally for meetings, surveys, and installations.
