Tasks
As a Tool Maker, you will be responsible for producing, servicing, and repairing high-precision tools, jigs, and fixtures essential for aerospace production and MRO operations. Key aspects of the role include:
* Operating manual machines, reading technical drawings, supporting prototype assembly, and using precision measurement techniques
* Collaborating with engineering, production, and quality teams to maintain tooling records, improve processes, mentor junior staff, and ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards
Requirements
The ideal Candidate should meet the following requirements:
* GCSE level education or equivalent
* Fluent in written and spoken English
* Proficient in milling or turning machines
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
* Strong problem-solving, planning, and organizational skills
* Effective communicator and team player
* Self-motivated, adaptable, and improvement-oriented
* Workshop experience essential; tool room experience preferred
* Basic welding knowledge (Gas, MIG, TIG, Stick) advantageous
