Job Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a suitably qualified and experienced Registered Nurse to join the District Nursing Service. The applicant must be a Registered Nurse, be confident and competent in a wide range of clinical skills and demonstrate evidence of continuing professional development. There is a requirement for a flexible approach to work and an ability to travel between sites in a timely manner.

This post is fixed term/secondment for 6 months, from start date, to cover maternity leave. If you are interested in applying for the secondment position, you must obtain permission from your current line manager prior to applying for this post.

Main Duties

The post-holder will respond to multiple demands associated with providing care for patients outside of the hospital environment. The role is well supported by a friendly and enthusiastic team of staff.

The post is based within the Merthyr Valley, although you could be asked to work anywhere within the Merthyr and Cynon region to meet the needs of the Service.

Welsh Skills Desirable: This post is advertised as Welsh Desirable. This doesn’t mean essential; whilst the candidate doesn’t need to have skills in Welsh, we’ll consider it an advantage when short‑listing and selecting candidates. This isn’t ‘fluency’, just speaking and listening skills at Level 3 (equivalent to CEFR B2) or above. Level 3 means basic conversations with patients about their everyday health.
