Help Lead Our Mission: Assistant Shop Manager, South Shields
Are you a passionate and driven retail professional with a talent for teamwork and an eye for detail? Veterans at Ease is looking for an Assistant Shop Manager to help lead our South Shields shop. This is more than a retail role; it's a chance to use your skills to make a real difference in the lives of military veterans and their families.
Your Mission
Our retail shops are the heart of our fundraising efforts, generating the vital income that funds our life-changing therapy for veterans struggling with PTSD and other combat-related issues.
As the Assistant Shop Manager, you will:
* Be a key leader. Work closely with the Shop Manager to ensure the store runs efficiently and profitably.
* Drive sales and showcase our stock. Help create dynamic, eye-catching displays, with a special focus on our large furniture selection, as well as clothing, bric-a-brac, and other items.
* Support and empower our team. Assist in the daily management of a dedicated team of volunteers, helping them develop new skills and find a sense of purpose.
* Deliver exceptional service. Provide a warm and welcoming experience for every customer, spreading awareness of our mission.
What We're Looking For
You're a proactive and creative individual with a strong work ethic. You should have:
* A minimum of one year of experience in a retail environment, with some supervisory or leadership responsibility.
* A proven ability to support a manager in hitting sales targets and managing a busy store.
* The physical capability to handle the daily demands of a charity shop, including lifting and moving stock and furniture.
* A trustworthy character with experience in cash handling and managing goods.
* A positive, can-do attitude and a willingness to learn.

* Salary: £12.30 per hour
* Annual Leave: 20 days per annum + Bank Holidays (pro rata)
