Wind Turbine Service Technician
Nordex has an exciting opportunity for the role of Wind Turbine Service Technician based at Glen Kyllachy Windfarm in the Scottish Highlands.
Contract Type: Permanent
Location: Glen Kyllachy Windfarm, Scottish Highlands
Hours: 37 per week (Monday – Thursday 8am – 4:30pm and Friday 8am till 1pm) with overtime. On‑call every 2nd or 3rd weekend. Overtime is paid at time and a half and weekend pay available. Successful candidates must live within a radius of up to 1 hour from the windfarm.
Responsibilities
* On‑site performance analysis and action plan implementation.
* Work closely with Technicians and Back Office staff to perform on‑the‑job demonstrations.
* Support on‑site single turbine improvements on problem turbines.
* Provide on‑site software and hardware updates.
* Provide online and phone technical support.
* Create reports on turbine or turbine components.
* Parameter disabling and alarm change handling when necessary.
Requirements
* Experience working in the Mechanical / Electrical industry, with knowledge of reading electrical, hydraulic and mechanical diagrams.
* Mechanical or Electrical trained through time‑served or a technical college qualification at least NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
* Ability to identify and define problems, extract vital information from technical data and develop workable solutions.
* Adaptability to an environment of continuous change and challenges.
* Positive attitude with willingness to learn, lead and continuously improve.
* Computer literate and confident in using MS Office, in‑house databases and workload management systems.
* Involved in working at heights up to 140 m; fit and healthy, pass a working at heights test.
* Available for occasional travel, including nights away from home.
* Full UK / EU Driving Licence required.
