Purpose of Role
VINCI Facilities are recruiting a Lead Mechanical Engineer to join our Defence team in the South East. This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced Authorised Person (Mechanical) or a senior Mechanical Engineer who is ready to step into an AP role with full training and support.
Job Description
You will be trusted as the technical authority for mechanical systems across secure Defence environments, with genuine autonomy, influence and long-term stability.
You’ll be part of a collaborative engineering community, backed by the scale and reputation of the VINCI group - while still enjoying the close-knit feel of a supportive regional team.
Responsibilities
* Act as Authorised Person (Mechanical) for boilers and pressure systems
* Ensure compliance with JSP 375 Volume 3
* Oversee permits, isolations, and safe systems of work
* Provide technical leadership to site teams and contractors
Essential Qualifications/Skills
* Extensive mechanical engineering experience
* Relevant mechanical qualifications (NVQ, City & Guilds)
* Ability to obtain and maintain Security Clearance
* Full UK driving licence
* Full AP training and mentoring will be provided
