The North School
The North School is looking to appoint a hard-working, well-organised and enthusiastic Science Technician working under the guidance of the Senior Technician, in a large, well-equipped Science department.
This is a varied and interesting post where you will have the opportunity to work independently and as part of a friendly team supporting teaching staff in Biology, Chemistry and Physics lessons. In addition, some general administration and maintenance tasks will be undertaken.
A typical day will see you preparing and setting up equipment and resources for practical teaching lessons. This will involve the use of chemicals and biological materials for experiments and demonstrations by staff and students. Your organisational skills will then come in handy as you clean down, dispose of waste appropriately and update stock records.
Our ideal candidate is well-organised and able to prioritise work, methodical and flexible in your approach to all tasks. You will enjoy working as a team member and are able to work autonomously. We are looking for a candidate with relevant qualifications or experience of working in an education environment, although this is not essential as training will be provided.
