Job Description:
Cambian employees are friendly, supportive and all focused on achieving the best outcomes for everyone involved with our service. We are looking for Children’s Residential Care Workers to be part of our services within the Somerset Area in South West region. We strive to build a stable and welcoming environment where our young people are central to everything we do.
You will be a dedicated person, who thrives in making a difference in the lives of others and wants to develop your skills and knowledge in the children's home sector.
Do you have what it takes to encourage and help our children to live independently, guiding and teaching them with your own life experiences? To do this, we believe you will need empathy, compassion, resilience, and positive parenting skills.
The working day can be unpredictable, involving organising activities in the morning and providing 1:1 support in the afternoon.
We offer a competitive package:
* Rate of Pay: £12.35-£13.71 per hour, plus a £30 sleep-in rate
* Training and Development Plans including NVQs and career progression
* 28 Days Holiday including Bank Holidays, increasing with service
* Paid Sickness Leave
* Overtime, On-Call, Sleep-in, and Disturbance Rates
* Casual Dress Code
* Company Pension
* Health benefits and activity days off site
* Management Development Programme
As a Children’s Residential Care Worker, you will be involved in all aspects of the children's lives, making a positive impact. You will need to be emotionally strong, approachable, detail-focused, and committed to safety and regulatory compliance.
Shift Pattern: 16-24 Hour shifts, including Sleep-ins, on a one on two off or two on four off basis.
A typical day may include:
* Providing high-quality care and support
* Supporting engagement with education
* Promoting healthy lifestyles
* Attending training and keeping records
* Organising days out and transport
Requirements:
* Desirable but not essential: Full UK Driving Licence, NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare, therapeutic experience or qualifications, leadership skills, higher training/qualifications.
We are committed to safeguarding children. All applicants must undergo an enhanced DBS check and provide references covering the past two years, including employment and education history.
