Job Description: Quality Engineer
We are seeking an experienced Quality Engineer with comprehensive knowledge of APQP, PPAP, FMEA, and SPC to undertake inspection and customer liaison regarding all aspects of supply issues in a fast-paced environment.
Our client, established for nearly 30 years, specializes in the supply and manufacture of safety-critical fastening solutions across various industry sectors. Due to continued success and strategic growth, they are now looking to recruit an experienced and self-motivated Quality Engineer to join their professional HSEQ team.
Based in Birmingham and reporting to the HSEQ Manager, the successful candidate will provide quality support to both internal and external customers, from new project introduction through to PPAP submission and signoff.
Core Activities
1. Review supplier-submitted PPAPs and ISIRs
2. Act as the primary contact for customers regarding supply issues
3. Control of Non-Conformance by raising return notes, etc.
4. Serve as the Quality liaison for internal and external customers
5. Generate and manage Corrective Action Reports (CARs)
6. Inspect parts according to customer drawings or international standards
7. Utilize Keyence Digital Imaging Machines (full training provided)
8. Monitor calibration of group measuring equipment
To be considered for this opportunity, candidates should demonstrate a working knowledge of IATF/ISO requirements, experience with Root Cause Analysis (8D), and Internal Auditing.
Proven experience with core Quality Tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA) and IMDS submissions is essential. Candidates should be skilled in using measuring equipment such as micrometers, vernier calipers, thread gauges, and hardness testers. Excellent communication skills at all levels are required to participate effectively in TEAMS calls with customers during technical reviews and APQP activities.
