Purpose Of The Role
Affinia is currently seeking a high calibre, dynamic and energetic individual to join the firm as Associate Director within our Corporate Finance Transaction Services team, delivering a combination of service and project support to external clients and to senior internal stakeholders, including the group C‑suite and the Corporate Development team. This is an exciting opportunity which offers the chance to make a real impact on the future of the Affinia group as we continue our growth journey. The role will involve working closely in a strong team on a range of internal and external clients and exciting projects, collaborating with different teams and locations across the firm to drive forward business growth. This role is particularly aimed at an individual who brings in‑depth experience of Business valuations (and ideally other asset classes including intellectual property and derivatives) and/or financial modelling. Flexibility and experience to lead Financial Due Diligence projects in the £5m to £50m range is welcomed.
The role will be split between supporting the Head of Transaction Services in day‑to‑day and strategic management and review of projects and project deliverables, alongside taking an active role in business development: establishing and building on a network of referrers including other professionals in legal, banking and investment businesses.
Accountabilities
* Oversee delivery of assignments to external clients (including Business valuations, financial models and FDD assignments).
* Where required, oversee FDD projects for Affinia’s Corporate Development team.
* Provide valuation support to audit colleagues (e.g. share option, derivative and investment portfolio valuations).
Skills / Qualifications
The ideal individual will be experienced in Transaction Services activities including FDD, valuations and financial modelling. There is a particular need for an individual who brings strong expertise in either or both business valuations and financial modelling, particularly with experience in valuations relating to disputes/litigation. They will possess strong interpersonal and communication skills with a genuine desire to contribute to the strategic direction and success of the Affinia group. They must also possess:
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including providing a high standard of service to clients.
* Experience of managing internal stakeholders of all levels of seniority.
* Someone with the required gravitas to represent and promote the Affinia group externally.
* Already working at AD level, or a Corporate Finance Manager with the technical experience needed to oversee TS Projects who is looking for an opportunity to take a more senior role and to develop their professional networks amongst key intermediaries (e.g. lawyers, banks, equity investors).
