DEPUTY RADIOPHARMACIST, RADIOPHARMACY & JOHN MALLARD SCOTTISH PET CENTRE, PHARMACY DEPARTMENT, ABERDEEN ROYAL INFIRMARY, NHS GRAMPIAN
We have an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacist to join the existing multidisciplinary team within the Radiopharmacy and John Mallard Scottish PET Centre, based at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary (ARI). The post holder will be contributing towards the product release and quality management of both the Radiopharmacy and PET Production Service. The Radiopharmacy and PET Centre are well-established departments delivering diagnostic radiopharmaceuticals to the Nuclear Medicine department at ARI with an emphasis on the study of cancer and heart disease along with a range of other clinical applications. Both departments are housed in purpose built facilities within Aberdeen Royal Infirmary with the radiochemistry facility including a GMP cleanroom conforming to the Rules and Guidance for Pharmaceutical Manufacturers and Distributors (GMP 2017). The PET centre with a new PETrace 800 cyclotron along with new hot-cells, allow the preparation of gallium-68 radiopharmaceuticals – the only one in the UK using cyclotron technology.
Applicants are required to be a registered UK Pharmacist, should have completed Hospital Pharmacy Vocational Training (or equivalent training), and have (or willing to undertake) Post-graduate Diploma/Degree in Quality Assurance (PTQA).
