We’ve got a fantastic opportunity for a Research Associate to work closely with a Wallscourt-funded Research Fellow in Long Term Conditions in our Centre for Health and Clinical Research. You’ll be supporting a feasibility trial of a psychological intervention for young people across four NHS ‘Complications of Excess Weight’ (CEW) clinics in the UK. In this varied and exciting role, you’ll get the opportunity to undertake research, contribute to grant applications, write articles for publication, and to work in collaboration patients and the public, and with an expanding network of colleagues within and beyond the university. This is a fixed term role until 30 April 2028, working part time on a 0.8 FTE contract. You’ve got a proven track record in research and skills and will have, or be working towards, a professional doctorate in health psychology or PhD in a related subject. Previous experience of research in a healthcare field, with young people or with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT or the DNA-V model) will be advantageous. Experience in project management and conducting mixed methods research would be particularly beneficial. UWE Bristol is a campus-based University, with vibrant campus communities that are central to student life. In this role, you’ll be based at our Glenside Campus which is set within beautiful grounds in Stapleton, just three miles from Bristol city centre. You’ll spend 50% percent of your time on campus, typically 2 days per week, with the opportunity to work from home on the remaining days. There may be times when you will visit the Children’s Hospital to work with our research partners.
