Lecturer, Hairdressing Part time, Southend Campus We are seeking a hairdressing specialist with a desire to teach to join the Hairdressing team within the Department of Service Industries. The post holder will ensure the needs of our learners come first and that every learner will be provided with opportunities to achieve their full potential within a safe, stimulating and supportive environment. You will be required to deliver high quality teaching and learning and you are expected to develop appropriate teaching techniques and materials which enable all learners to achieve their full potential and take account of educational initiatives. The applicant will need to have a minimum of a Level 3 Qualification in hairdressing, other qualifications such as hair extensions would be beneficial. A minimum of 3 years within the hairdressing industry is required for the role to lead learners and pass on experiences. A teaching qualification is desirable but not essential for the right candidate, but expectation is to enrol on a teaching qualification within first few years of teaching. An assessors qualification is also required but can be gained while in employment at the college. Excellent communication skills essential and must be familiar with using teams, and assessment tracking software. 30 hours per week, 52 weeks per year.
